Christmas Break

Things have been slow around here lately as far as posting. I’ve been working on a lot of back end stuff for the site and playing a lot of poker. I’m playing pretty well but suffering some beats and just falling short of the money in some deep tournaments. I’m happy with the way I’ve been playing though. I always take this time of year to refocus and plan for the next year. My grandmother recently passed away and I’ve been dealing with that.

I miss her dearly but I’m thankfull that she’s at peace now. She was a cancer survivor for 32 years and was the strongest person I’ve ever met. She gives me hope and strength even in death. Her passing has motivated me to get off my ass and work hard to accomplish all my goals and dreams.

So things will be slow around here until after the new year when I hope to finally hold a contest to give away a copy of Poker Tracker 3 among other things. Thanks to everyone for visiting and I hope you stick around.

Best Wishes and Happy Holidays!

60 Minutes Poker Face

Transcript

The CBS 60 Minute Poker Face story about the online poker cheating that occurred on Ultimate Bet and its sister company Absolute Poker finally aired on November 30th, 2008. Anticipated by the poker community long after the “story” actually broke. The concern of the poker community was how this would effect the general public and how online poker would be perceived. The story was typical of 60 Minutes, offering a balanced approach but lacked insight to deeper issues at hand. These issues have been talked about more in depth (and more eloquently) on other sites/blogs so I’ll keep mine short.

Poker Hand Converters

I spend a lot of time going through Google Reader and reading my poker content. I currently have 769 posts to browse through and find the best content. It drives me absolutely crazy to read a poker blog and see the hand history just copied and pasted from the original HH text. I know that I will most likely stop reading a blog that consistently posts hand history text. I will only bear reading blogs whose hand analysis is so valuable that I’d be missing out. I just don’t have the time to waste surfing through all that content and chances are something this simple could be costing you readers.
